Marquette Savings Bank has been recognized as an employer of choice by two distinct organizations at the state and national level.
Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania. For the second year in a row, Marquette has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania by a public/private partnership among Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Central Penn Business Journal.
The survey and awards program recognizes employers based upon the total number of employees in three categories. Marquette has been recognized in the 100-to-250-employee category. A two-part process is used to determine those recognized. The first part evaluated each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. The final ranking will be revealed at a banquet on November 29, 2018 in Lancaster, PA.
“We are very honored to once again be considered one of the best places to work in Pennsylvania,” said Michael B. Edwards, CEO of Marquette Savings Bank. “To be ranked this way for the second year in a row is important to us because it is a reflection of how our employees feel about working here. We believe their satisfaction in turn is reflected in positive interactions with customers – and that makes all the difference.”
Best Banks to Work For. American Banker has announced the results of its fifth annual Best Banks to Work For program, and locally headquartered Marquette Savings Bank is ranked 37th in the nation. The program – conducted by American Banker and Best Companies Group – identifies, recognizes and honors U.S. banks for outstanding employee satisfaction. “Our annual ranking recognizes the financial institutions that are committed to investing in employees’ job satisfaction, career development and personal growth – a ‘return on assets’ that can be hard to measure by traditional means,” said Rob Blackwell, editor in chief of American Banker. “One of the most valuable assets for any organization is the team of people it employs, and banks are no exception.”
“We were thrilled to be recognized as one of the best banks to work for in the nation. Our employees are our most important asset. We are fortunate to attract people who are committed to the work we do on behalf of our customers, and creating a work environment where they can thrive is critical to our success,” said Michael B. Edwards, CEO of Marquette Savings Bank. “We have taken steps over time to create and maintain a positive work environment in which employees feel valued. Knowing that our employees feel the same way about our organization is gratifying.”
The Best Bank ranking was preceded less than 12 months ago by Marquette’s ranking as one of the Top 100 Places to Work in Pennsylvania. Marquette was the only bank named in the northwest Pennsylvania region for both recognition and one of only five banks in Pennsylvania recognized in the Best Banks to Work For Program.
Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final ranking. The program is open to commercial banks, thrifts, savings banks and other chartered retail financial institutions with at least 50 employees in the United States. Full results of this year’s program are available at American Banker and in the September issue of American Banker Magazine.
